Ingredients
- 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Mix dry ingredients - In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.

Cream butter and sugars - In a large bowl, beat softened butter with both sugars until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).

Add eggs and vanilla - Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.

Combine wet and dry - Gradually blend in flour mixture until just combined.

Fold in chocolate chips - Stir in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Shape and bake - Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.

Cool - Let stand on baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
Tips
- For chewier cookies, slightly underbake them
